This is a feature which we will be seeing in the Game development industry. Game consoles like PS3, Xbox 360 or your highedge PC will come up a new highly quality game. As the Character in the cinematics always looks realistic and highbloody detail now you will be able to see this high quality detail fitted in a low polygons with just amount of 5,000 triangles in a realtime game!.

This is possible because of the new game engine has released like Unreal. Also In Alias Maya Version 7 comes the new baking feature for texture maps. There foreinstead of using Bump maps there is a new map which gives more detail which we call Normal maps. Normal maps comes from a high poly model and bake it to form a computed based texture. Now you have a low polygon model thats looks more as deadly as the highres. Aside from these it would be more realistic if you could also generate a light map that ill follow the bending contours of light giving the low model to have the realistic feeling.

How to Make a normal map and a light map:

Requirements:

1. Low polygon model (around 5,000- 8,000 triangles per character) with UV coordinates.

2. High polygon model (around more than 100,000 triangles per character).

3. High-performance graphics card (im using Inno 3D Geforce 6600 ).
