Eldy Tendero Jr: First of all let me greet all my brothers and sisters in 3DPinoy, my name is Eldy Tendero Jr. and known as tribal_tuesday. I’m a graphic artist here in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I’m presently working at Memac Ogilvy Advertising as 3d visualizer/Artist. 3DP: Tell us how and why you got started in computer graphics. Eldy Tendero Jr: I am a Sign Artist when i was still in the Philippines, mostly under the sun cutting stickers and painting billboards and signboards on jeepneys. My first job here in the kingdom was a cabin mechanic for Saudi Arabian Airlines, after 2 years doing cabin, I got recommended by my friend who is also an artist to Saudia’s Graphic Department. From there, I started to develop skills on computer graphics. And after Saudia, I got hired in a printing press company and later on in an advertising company. |

3DP: Tell us a bit about your process when you have to come up with new ideas and designs for your work, from getting inspirations, the work process to a final image. Eldy Tendero Jr: My idea usually comes from photographs and images. I always try to study the lighting effects especially now that I am doing product modeling; it is required for me to produce realistic images. Browsing CG site galleries gives me more inspiration and ideas, studying how their process can be adopted on what i do. 3DP: Do you draw on paper or do you work completely digital? Eldy Tendero Jr: Yeah I do sketches but i’m not really good, especially with human figures so most of the time I always use the famous command ctrl+z(undo). I purchased a genius tablet for drawing minor stuff like guides for what ill be modeling in max, still I find wacom a bit expensive for me. When I am making some furniture models, photos are a good guide (especially if it includes dimension). |
